Located 160 miles north of Denali National Park,
the "Golden Heart" town of Fairbanks has a colorful frontier history starting
with the Gold Rush of late 1800's. Situated on the banks of the Chena
River and now the second largest city in Alaska, Fairbanks is considered the
gateway to the Arctic. You will find many exciting tours to the
Arctic and to the North Slope Oilfields of Prudhoe Bay. And

Come aboard
the authentic sternwheeler Riverboat Discovery III for a 3 1/2 hour narrated
cruise along the Chena and Tanana Rivers. You'll go ashore to an authentic
Athabascan Indian village where your Alaskan Native guides will introduce
you to traditional Native lifestyles. You'll meet an Athabascan beadwork
artist and Susan Butcher's famous Iditarod sled dog team. You'll witness a bush
pilot demonstration and see a fish wheel in operation. You'll also see the
'Wedding of the Rivers' at the confluence of the Chena and Tanana Rivers.

a scenic ride on the Tanana Valley Railroad in the Interior's original gold
