White Pass Yukon Railroad
Summit Excursion:
This
is truly one of the best activities in Alaska!
Built in 1898
during the Klondike Gold Rush, this narrow gauge railroad is an International
Historic Civil Engineering Landmark. This three hour, forty mile round
trip climbs from tidewater at Skagway to the summit of the White Pass - a 2,865
foot elevation! You’ll ride in comfortable restored and replica coaches
pulled by vintage diesel locomotives. Experience this unique railroad that

Lake Bennett Steam/Diesel Rail and Road
Excursion:

with Engine No. 73, a 1947 Baldwin steam locomotive (or diesel locomotive on

mile round trip adventure 20 miles beyond White Pass Summit to remote and
historic Bennett, British Columbia - end of the Chilkoot Trail! During the two
hour layover, participate in a walking tour with a Park Historian, explore the
area's artifacts and tour the historic displays in our 1903 train station. Fare

Yukon and Hiking with the
Huskies Tour:
Relax,
ride and get out and hike! Your all day adventure in Skagway begins when you
board your tour vehicle and travel up the Klondike Highway, paralleling the
railroad and the Trail of '98, while you listen to the hair-raising tales of the
Gold Rush Stampeeders. You'll follow their route, past pristine waterfalls and
mountains, crossing the summit and tree-line into the "moonscape" of subarctic
tundra as you enter the Yukon!
Your hike begins at the site of Conrad and
Montana Mountain, home to over 20 mines: remnants of the 1900's silver boom.
There you'll meet the furry and friendly pack huskies - and once their
packs are loads, you'll follow the hand-restored Sam Magee Trail, making your
way beside the cables and ore buckets of the longest spanning, oldest wooden
tramway in the world - hand built in 1905. There are numerous scenic stops
along the way and included are views of Tagish Lake and Conrad Mountain.
Lunch is set up buffet style, with a 360 degree view and spotting scope. The
area is home to mountain goats, caribou, Dall sheep, grizzly bears, eagles and
many other animals. Samples of silver, Caribou antlers and other historic items
are available for touch and discussion.

per person. Must be 12 older. The complete hike, on Canada's
only privately funded historic hiking trail, is 3 miles and climbs 663 feet
(moderate rating). This tour offers something for everyone, from 12 years to 73
years of age (their oldest hiker so far). Your return trip includes photo stops
at Lake Tutshi and the "Welcome to Alaska" sign, before disembarking in Skagway.

Glacier
Dog Sledding Helicopter Adventure:
This is a unique way to experience the sport Alaska is famous for - Dog
Sledding! You depart by helicopter for a scenic flightseeing tour, landing
on the Denver Glacier where the Huskies and their mushers will be waiting for
you. You will be provided with a safety vest and glacier boots. And
your guides will instruct you on the skills needed for Dog Mushing!
You can then drive the team yourself or sit in the sled and relax as the guides
drive your team.

board your touring bus and follow the 1898 Gold
Rush Trail over the summit and on into Canada’s legendary Yukon. As your guide
relates the stories of the stampeders, you’ll leave behind the coastal
rainforest and enter the subarctic alpine tundra of the “Tormented” Valley - a
virtual moonscape! You’ll see the White Pass Trail of ‘98, the Fantail Trail, and
Summit & Fraser Lakes before passing back into the boreal forest for Lakes Tutshi and Tagish. There you'll view the historic silver mines of

Skagway
Halibut and Salmon Fishing:
This is a great fishing excursion with an experienced Captain who knows these
waters and their secrets well. The vessel will be outfitted with all
the gear and tackle you need and your crew will assist you in going after either
Halibut or Salmon, depending on the season and/or the weather.
